I was asked today if I watch 'Hasselhoff'. This reminded me that there are two shows running here which are noteworthy for an American in Sweden. I said I did not watch Hasselhoff. That wasn't entirely true.
I've seen a part of a program. It began with The Hoff singing. The show is remarkable in that it brings in an American celebrity to host a prime time talk show completely in English on a big national network. I don't think this has happened much before in Europe. It's also something that that American celebrity is Hasselhoff. I didn't see that one coming. Judging by the bit I watched - including a skit on a Swedish version of Baywatch, called Snowwatch, with Hasselhoff running around in a ski suit - I'm not sure the rest of Europe should copy/paste the concept.
The other show of note is 'Welcome to Sweden', put together by an American who lives here. It's running now and will air in the US later this year, I think I heard.
The show is about an American guy who picked up and moved to Sweden for a Swedish girl. I saw the first episode. It was the story of my life. I need to watch the rest. I have to find out what happens to me.
